Our story
We could say Alfa Humans started in Australia. Two friends — Joaco and Santi — a student exchange, and an idea we didn’t yet know would change our lives.
2022
Years later, in 2022, we took a Wim Hof Method workshop. That first ice bath was a before-and-after moment: a rush of euphoria, calm, and fullness that completely blew our minds.
We became obsessed. But keeping the habit was a nightmare — buying bags of ice every time, spending a fortune. It was nearly impossible to sustain. That’s when it hit us: this has to be doable in a better, easier, and cheaper way.
We’d seen cryotherapy systems abroad that worked without ice, 24/7. So we asked ourselves: why not make it here? We were convinced this practice was truly transformative — and that it could have a real impact on people’s lives.
After many talks (and countless mates), we decided to go for it.
While searching for suppliers, we found a manufacturer of aquarium chillers (yes, you are reading that right). You can imagine their faces when we told them our idea. Then came the first tub — it was terrible. The second, better. Six months later, we had a prototype worth testing.
2023
In April 2023, we launched Alfa Hackers and hosted our first demo. We were terrified: we had invested most of our savings and had no idea if anyone would even show up. Twelve people came, brave enough to try ice therapy. That day, we sold four ice baths.
Then came Martu (our Brand Manager), Tato (our third partner), and later Uli and Mati in logistics. Big events followed: SouthFit, the Buenos Aires Marathon, Ironman. With every step, the community, the awareness around cryotherapy, and our conviction grew stronger.
Not everything was easy. There were mistakes, delays, and chaos. But from day one, we’ve kept the same mindset: every obstacle is a chance to learn, grow, and prove why we do what we do.
2024
When we hit our first anniversary, we looked back and realized we’d made the right call. We kept betting on Alfa Hackers and pushing innovation forward: that’s when the Ice Bath O2 and the Sauna On The Go were born. The response was amazing, and the Alfa community kept growing.
In December 2024, during our end-of-year dinner, we asked ourselves: Where do we see Alfa in the future?. We all agreed: we want to grow, expand, and keep bringing life-changing tools to more people.
And so, in 2025, after much thought, Alfa Hackers became Alfa Humans. Because we realized something essential: this isn’t just about recovery, performance, or “biohacking.” It’s about health, vitality, and purpose.
We didn’t just rebrand — we took a leap and landed in Europe. Still driven by the same mission: these practices change lives.
Today, Alfa Humans is more than a brand. It’s about building, challenging, growing, and creating something that makes life better for others.
And we’ll keep doing it — with the same dedication, passion, and love we had on day one.
